MATERIALS & METHODS - Pigments

Further Remarks

The concise catalog of pigments includes only significant characteristics in a clearly arranged form. Particulars of value to painters or conservators that do-not fit under any of the preceding headings will be listed under 'Further Remarks'. Many of These will be of a practical nature. The degree of opacity or transparency to X-rays will be given in some cases. In these times, when not only many museums but also some conservators own X-ray equipment, reference to the appearance of pigments on radiographs seemed appropriate. [p. 67]
