Commercial Grades


Trade designations of certain commercial pigments are of interest to all artists who make their own color from powder pigments, especially since not all paint systems can be supplied readymade. Powder colors are necessary for fresco, sgraffito, and other techniques. Some commercial materials have certain designations by which their shades have become known. These will be given in the List of Pigments. [p. 66]
