Workshop on Standards

OBJECTIVE:

Standard as a guide, method, or tool utilized to facilitate studio practice and outcomes. Students are encouraged to recognize, resource, meet, surpass, and/or develop a Standard [which might be the ingredients, the procedure, the measure or proportion, the overall motivating factor, the parameters, etc.].

4-hr Open Sessions offered periodically to provide opportunities for students to focus on methods, techniques, or procedures which, through concensus, are determined to facilitate media-based process, studio procedure, the development of works, or finish. Open invitation to all students in the school or organization. Sign-up should be required, but anyone should be allowed to drop in to observe or participate.

The idea is to encourage students on a professional track to take full advantage of any tools, methods, and standards that can strengthen their repetoire for immediate problem solving and to support their interests as they are apt to evolve in the future.

NOTE: The objective is strictly technical. The workshops are opportunities in addition to ones professional track.

4-HOUR SESSION FORMAT

Part II. Practice. 2-hr Hands-on practice for: a) The steps involved in a standard procedure or method; b) Skill development and Range; c) The achievement of an Objective or the development of a Reference Guide Book (for technical notes, the steps or procedure, and a Sampler).
