The daughter of Tyndareus and Leda, a sister through her mother of the Dioscuri and Helen. She first married Tantalus, then later Agamemnon. With her paramour Aegisthus, she murdered Agamemnon after his return from Troy to avenge the sacrifice of their daughter Iphigenia. She in turn was slain by her son Orestes who was helped by his sister Electra [see Agamemnon]. [p. 61]
